The National Football League and Major League Soccer are both some of the most entertaining couple of hours that a person can spend watching their favorite athletes and teams compete against one another. However, there are a lot of feeder systems in place to make sure the best talent finds its way into the leagues. Today, we are going to discuss which league is more critical for a player’s success at the biggest level, NCAA Football or the USL Championship.

One thing is the popularity of each of the leagues and with the college football season getting ready to kick off, it is time to make sure you get your college football picks in and make some money.

NCAA Football

NCAA Football has been around for a long time and over 300 different colleges and universities are preparing for another season. These are players that are getting collegiate experience and trying to get their names out there to eventually be drafted by an NFL team when they are eligible after three years. College football predictions on players that are ready for the NFL are available online.

This is the biggest chance for a prospect to be seen as this is the pipeline for many players to get to the biggest stage and if you are in a school that is one of the premier football schools, then you are getting 40,000+ fans every game easily. This is like a religion to some parts of the country and there are a bunch of facilities that college football players have access to so they can continue to improve.

USL Championship

The USL Championship was founded back on September 8, 2010, and began with the 2011 season, so this is a newer league to figure everything out. There are 27 different teams in this league and they have a competitive league with a good amount of expansion. MLS teams have decided to purchase franchises and have their reserve teams compete in this to make sure they are seeing competitive action and honing in on their skills for when they could be needed to play in the MLS.

The league does not draw as much as you would love as in the 2021 season, there were an average of 4,138 fans with a high being 12,115 fans so the feeling is not the same as an MLS team drawing in 25,000+ fans into the building each night but gets them prepared for the bright lights of the top soccer league in the United States.

Which One Develops Players Better?

Development of players typically happens when you are younger and that typically is happening in NCAA Football more than it is in the USL Championship. There is also more notoriety that occurs within the football programs than in the USL as players are put more in a national spotlight and seen as larger-than-life athletes.

The facilities and stadiums for NCAA Football can range depending on the division of football and the school’s willingness to upgrade their equipment, but being a professional is the goal. College football seems to have a huge leg up in developing the future stars of tomorrow as football is deemed king in the United States of America.

Coaching staffs in college football can sometimes be more stable and even better than the ones in the NFL while USL Championship coaching staffs are often lesser than the ones seen in MLS due to the development. The game played at the USL Championship is more indicative of what is played at MLS compared to NCAA Football’s game when viewing it against the NFL.

However, the resources that are available and the hunger to get to that next level for some young and bright stars of the game make the NCAA Football system being a feeder league to the NFL the best that any sport has to currently offer.

So while you are viewing college football picks against the spread, start reviewing who in your opinion gets their youth players ready for the ‘bigs’.
