How To Allow Chrome To Access The Network In Your Firewall On Pc?

  1. Close the web browser
  2. Click on Start menu

  6. A new window will appear
  7. Click on Allow program through Windows firewall option (left side)
  8. A list of all the installed items will appear
  9. Check for the Google Chrome
  10. If the Chrome is not available on the list then click on Allow another program option
  11. Add Chrome on the list

Now check the status of Google Chrome and ensure that both Private and Public checkboxes are checked. Tap the OK button for saving all the changes and then restart your Chrome browser. If your Chrome browser is still showing the allow Chrome to access the network error message then seek other solutions.


Check the Google Chrome antivirus settings

You should check the settings of your antivirus also. If you have mistakenly blocked the Chrome on antivirus settings then this kind of error may appear. If you have a Windows 10 device then you will get Windows Defender as a built-in tool. You have to check the settings of Windows Defender and all an exception. Follow the given steps for adding an exception to Windows Defender:

  1. Go to the Start button 
  2. Navigate to Settings
  3. Choose the Update and Security tab
  4. Click on Open Windows Security option
  5. Hit the Virus & Threat Protection button
  6. Now scroll down and click on Manage settings option
  7. Scroll down and choose Exclusion option
  8. Tap the Add or Remove exclusion tab
  9. Hit the Add an exclusion button and choose the folder
  10. Navigate to Program files and choose the Chrome folder and hit the Select folder button

Finally hit the OK button for saving all the changes. Restart your device and open Google Chrome.


Check for Google Chrome Firewall Settings

You should check the firewall of your Windows device and allow Chrome as an exception. Follow the given steps for adding Chrome on Windows Defender Firewall:

  1. Press Windows and R keys
  2. Run box will appear
  3. Type control on the Run bar and press Enter button
  4. Control Panel will appear
  5. Go to System and Security
  6. Select Windows Defender Firewall
  7. Go to Allow feature through Windows Defender Firewall
  8. Tap the Change Settings button
  9. Click on Yes button
  10. Choose Allow another app option
  11. From the Add an App option, navigate to Program Files
  12. Choose Google Chrome

Hit the Add button and save the settings. Once you add Chrome as an exception, then you can easily access Google Chrome.
